Sounds like a challenge...

Challenge - Name 5 current major successful female artists that don't use their sexuality to sell records?

Well done to Adele for sweeping the Grammy's and the Brits...There are a few female artists out there who don't use sex to sell records, but surprisingly it’s not that easy to name more than five, is it? Would it also surprise you to know that out of all the artists signed to the UK's foremost music royalty membership organisation, PRS, just 14% of them are women? I know sex sells, but it is a bit extreme that out of the few women in the industry, most of them have to use the old and dated marketing clichés to be a success story.

Abimaro & The Free are particularly inspired by the complexity of female representation, and so for all men and women out there, we are putting to song all those publicly unspoken relationships a woman has with her mother, her friend and her brother in a very special showcase!

We are looking forward to performing our specially composed songs inspired and funded by the PRS Music Foundation, on the 2nd March 2012 at the Albany, South London. This exclusive showcase named 'The House My Sister Drew' is in the true spirit of International Women’s Day (8th March). Or you can come to one of our gigs from the 'Ginger Tea Tour' taking place across East London – we’d love to meet you!

You can buy tickets for 'The House My Sister Drew' at The Albany by clicking here OR call the Box Office on 020 8692 4446
